Kacchama's Christmas Art

So, for the sake on my sanity, I've started drawing again. I figured out that a lot can be said through works of art, even words that you say already that people believe have no meaning. Overall, I feel like I'm slowly losing touch with the world again. I mean, I know you don't come here to listen to me rant about my "emoisms," but this is something I hope I won't have to accept. There are a lot of people affected by my actions out there, and some will be hurt and others won't care. These are the thoughts that keep me awake for two days straight so I can sleep for ten hours and do it again. These friends, who have done nothing to harm me, don't deserve the stress I put them through. I will take this day by day and remedy the hearts that I may have stabbed through.

Made some changes to the blog! Changed the layout because our other one just... died... and used this! n_n' Messed around with the gadgets as well as added links to box.net folders--one for Midnight Sugar, and one for Dengeki Daisy! Of course we won't have the DD vids there, but you can download the Opening theme song and Ending theme song there! Keep in mind those are the shortened OP and ED versions, mixed by yours truly!

Yes, blog editing is what I do when I don't want to work on college papers. ^_^'

EPISODE TWO?!

Well, actually, I hear we have lines now! YES. My excitement is OVER 9000!!! Or at least getting there. After a month of waiting, we will finally be able to hear the epicness of episode two! Read: Suraki can finally go talk to all her friends that she bullies into listening to this radio play about her favorite lines in this episode. *cough* Anyway. As Bikki detailed in her very detailed post seen below this one, lots of things are finally starting to happen. This means that: 1) I finally can completely focus on ep 3... Well, actually, the special; 2) I actually have to focus on ep 3... Well, actually, the special; 3) I ACTUALLY HAVE TO FOCUS ON EP 3... Well, actually, the special.

OK, now that that silliness is (mostly) over with, here is what I really have to say! GO, BIKKI, GO, GO, GO! DON'T STOP BELIEVING~! IN FACT, BELIEVE IN THE ME WHO BELIEVES IN THE YOU!

Crap, reverted to bad jokes anyway. At any rate, the rest is really up to Bikki, because, unfortunately, I fail at audio editing. One of these days I will learn! One of these days! Small plug for my new blog.

A relatively decent sized update

Hey there. Bikki here, giving you updates about the progress of DD and MS! First and foremost,

MIDNIGHT SUGAR

episode two & special

Alright. After about a month of waiting, I've finally gotten ALL of the lines for Midnight Sugar: episode 2, EXCEPT Ritsuka and two extras. These three are only present in a few scenes, though, and I will be able to start mixing in their absence. I am hoping for a release sometime this week, probably closer to Thursday or Friday. I will not start mixing tonight, because I have a paper to finish up. I'm hoping to start tomorrow or Tuesday. This guess is of course assuming I have those last three sets of lines. I should have two of them by tomorrow or Tuesday, and Ritsuka is the only one I'm really worried about.

So, look for Midnight Sugar: Episode Two sometime by the end of this week!

Assuming this release schedule, we will be in season one officially by early to mid february. Why? Well, we've decided to go ahead and do a Midnight Sugar Christmas Special! At the rate we're going right now, episode three would be released sometime around Christmas. I rather love the holidays, so I would really like to do some type of Christmasy MS thing in the episode, but because of the timeframe in MS right now (it's early to mid Autumn) it wouldn't work well with the main storyline. So, after having an idea pop into my head and lots of "yes!" about the possibility of a special, I've decided to go ahead and do that BEFORE we release episode three. This will push Episode three's release date to sometime in January. It's kind of sad the schedule was thrown off, but I think a Christmas special will be cute, and will give us more time with Miho and Momo before we dive into season one which is a heavy focus on Chiharu.

In any case, look forward to that sometime before Christmas! I'll update again with episode two!

Dengeki Daisy

Alright. In my last post I posted up our cast list, which was some pretty big news.

Right now, though I've got some even bigger news! The lovely MJsisters (MJsistersx3

on youtube) have agreed to help us animate! We've got a pretty great animation staff

shaping up so far, though we have lost one colorist (bringing us down to one.) but I'm

still a bit unsure as to how it'll all play out! I'm hoping that these wonderful animators

can help me in terms of animation direction, because I have no idea what I'm doing in

that department. Hopefully, they will lead the animation team with me just being the

head honcho who only has to say "Yes" or "No" (beyond all the audio work, of course.

that's still all on me!)

Originally, I had asked the MJSisters alone to do the animation work, and I feel that this

will be WAY too much work for one (or two) people to do on their own, so I'm really hoping

this works out with them leading!

If you would like to be a part, again, let me know. We need everything.

To all of our animators, I would like to have a massive skype meeting as soon as possible.

The animation will not start until the audio is completely mixed, but the opening and

ending theme animation videos can be started. We have all of our cast and staff, so the

credits will be able to be added in.

I want to have this meeting to determine how sections will be split up to be animated

and how we will animate them. It is very important that we discuss this!

Also, audio mixing on DD will be able to start soon. I already have all of Teru's

lines, which are the most important, as well as a few extras. As soon as I get

a few key characters' lines for different scenes, I will start to mix each scene!

Script has been sent out to all cast members, and lines are due mid-November. Coloring is in production and animation is soon to start. Here's a sneak preview (a rough draft) of the ending theme song! The opening theme is finished, but we're saving it for the actual dub. ^^

Yo! It's been awhile, hasn't it. At least it isn't a month since we last posted! >_> Anyway, on to news time.

Midnight Sugar episode 2 is, unfortunately, not coming yet. I'm not even sure if we can get it out by our estimated time. Mostly this is because, as far as I know at least, we don't have lines yet. The other main reason is that we are trying to cast for our Dengeki Daisy mangadub and it is damned hard. Seriously. It sucks. We don't have people auditioning for extras. Or supporting characters. Or the main bad guy. And there are so many Teru auditions, we're still reeling. Well. I am at least. Everyone else is probably not. >_> But yeah. This is just a friendly neighborhood update~

And now i have to go back to my paper.

Good afternoon everyone~

Well, just to let everyone know, the releasing of MS episode two will probably be a bit delayed. Some cast members are dealing with some issues, so I'm pretty sure I won't have all of the lines by the due date, which is this coming Monday. I'm hoping that it won't take another two weeks, a week at most. Cross your fingers they get better and that life stops giving them too much to do!

...And of course, I realize that I'm one of those things that's giving them too much to do. >_> In any case, look forward to the release. I'm still hoping for an early november release, so look for it around the 5th. ^^

Episode two is going well... Not. I mean, it would be. But lines have not come in yet. Which is not to say they're late! But they haven't. So... IT'S SO BORING JUST WAITING FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *impatient person*

Oof. But anyway. I've recently found that script writing is not for me. I mean, I can do it. But... It's so hard. BIKKI, ANOTHER THING YOU'RE AWESOME AT!!!!!!!!!!! *ego-boosting in full swing* Hopefully, though, I'll get through this! Also, Bikki is currently sick. T_T GET BETTER SOON!!!!!!!!

Whew. It took all night, but Midnight Sugar episode two script is done!! :D It's looking pretty good so far... Well. I think so, at least. Now, all we have left is episodes three and four and five and... That's going to be painful. Bikki! I'm so happy you decided on monthly releases! We'd probably die otherwise! T_T But yes. That was just a little update from me~! Look forward to Episode Two! And if you really can't wait, well, you'll just have to tide yourself over with the Dengeki Daisy mangadub.

HIJACKED!

Not really. But hi. Bikki here. Yes, it did take all night, but episode two's script for Midnight sugar has been completed! And actually, it's ONE more episode before the Chiharu arc! AT the rate we're going, we'll be starting off the new year with some good old Chiharu family drama. This is my planned schedule...

November 1st - Episode Two is released

December 1st - Episode Three is Released, END OF PILOT EPISODES.

January 5th - Season One, Episode One is released

Februrary 5th - Season One, Episode Two is released...

and so on and so fourth. I am hopping to have the first chapter of Dengeki Daisy's manga dub released sometime in early December. Though we are casting for it right now and the casting will end before October does, and I'm sure I'll have the script out and lines in by middle of November, I'm giving myself plenty of time to mix and animate the first chapter. It is HELLA long, so I imagine we'll need it.

That's it from your director. Look forward to episode two in less than a month!! Just have to get lines in.

After much work, the Dengeki Daisy Manga Dub audition thread has been posted.

I am CURRENTLY looking for ASSISTANCE in the VIDEO DEPARTMENT for this production. While I am confident I can handle the audio mixing after completing the first episode of Midnight Sugar, I have never created a manga dub before. I would like to potentially have an opening and an ending.. while I'm sure I could just be lazy and use iMovie, I'd really like it to be spectacular. Some examples of what I like, in terms of animating manga:

This is so far my favorite example of a great manga dub in terms of animation. It has an animated kind of feel to it. I think that this would be the simplest of ways without being too boring. I could probably pull this off myself, but any assistance in photoshopping images, cropping images, or coloring/putting images together would be great. If possible I would like to have a colorist color some images for opening/ending credits.

I will be cross posting this to the VAA and potentially Mangafox.

HERE is a great example of what I would LOVE for animation.. (a Parfait Tic MV), and HERE is another great example (a DENGEKI DAISY MV). These are both manga mvs.

Thank you so much! The script for chapter one is 99% finished (just needs some final edits, but the script itself is done) and I would not be opposed to starting to animate early.

So...

It's out.

Midnight Sugar's first episode has been released!

*deep breath* OH MY GOD. Well. Finally after waiting on lines for what seemed like eternity (though I was way too enthusiastic and therefore more impatient than normal) and messing with sfx and music and GAH everything is finished!

...until episode 2, that is.

Oh, by the way, hi! I'm Bikki, your resident producer/director/writer/head-honcho of MSP. I'm the loser who devotes all of her time to this and yet is still a complete and total noob! I'm very happy to have great support from my staff, as it's what keeps me going when I'm ready to stab my computer! At the moment, I use audacity to mix, which makes me want to kill myself, but will soon be upgrading to adobe soundbooth, I believe. This was my very first project and my very first time mixing audio, so it was a little bit intimidating. But that's alright!

Hi hi!

Welcome to the blogspot for Midnight Sugar Productions! I'm sure most of you found this site because we told you about it, but just in case you have no idea what's going on, here's the deal! Midnight Sugar Productions, or MSP for short, is a small group currently made up of three girls. Bikki is the producer, director, and writer, and, along with Kacchama, is part of the original Midnight Sugar group. Finally, Suraki is the assistant director and editor of the group. She was a little late in learning about the group, so she's the newest member! For more detail, go visit loveandsugar.net, conveniently the first link in our links list!

As for what Midnight Sugar is, we are a group of people who are passionate about and produce audio dramas, mangadubs, and whatever else we think we can actually pull off. Currently, we have two big projects: Midnight Sugar, the Audio Drama; and the Dengeki Daisy mangadub.
